Terms & Conditions

1. WHAT’S THE PROMOTION?

1.1 BTC Markets is running a promotion called ‘BTC Market is celebrating 11 years in crypto’. Participants can enter the draw for a chance to win a share of AU$5,000 worth of Bitcoin. This promotion is conducted by BTC Markets Pty Ltd ACN 164 093 887 (BTC Markets, we or our) in accordance with these terms and conditions.

1.2 BTC Markets is running the promotion ‘BTC Market is celebrating 11 years in crypto’ during the promotion period (promotion). (NSW License No: TP/02680).

1.3 The promotion will commence on 6th June 2024 and end on 30th June 2024 at 11:59pm AEST (promotion period). We may amend the promotion period at our absolute discretion.

1.4 By entering in the promotion, you will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions. You must not participate in the promotion if you do not agree with these terms and conditions.

2. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

2.1 In order to be eligible to participate in the promotion, you must:

(a) be at least 18 years old and ordinarily reside in Australia (excluding residents of Northern Territory (NT), South Australia (SA) and Australian Capital Territory (ACT);

(b) be our customer and hold an active account with us (BTC Markets Account);

(c) act in good faith and not breach any applicable laws;

(d) comply with the terms and conditions of any social media platforms in which the promotion offer is published or distributed;

(e) comply with any other conditions we may prescribe in relation to the promotion offer, which will be available at www.btcmarkets.net; and

(f) comply with the terms of service of the BTC Markets Account, available at Terms of Service | BTC Markets.

2.2 The promotion will only apply to those who:

(a) visit our official social media page and locate the competition post dedicated to the ‘BTC Markets is celebrating 11 years in crypto’; and

(b) Follow the BTC Markets X account; and

(c) Retweet the promotion via your X account; and

(d) Comment ‘#BTC Markets is celebrating 11 years in #crypto’ on the post dedicated to the ‘BTC Markets is celebrating 11 years in crypto’.

(e) enter the promotion through a social media account that is your personal account and set to ‘public' (not private) as we will need to contact winners on their public account to verify entry details during the promotion period. To avoid doubt, the promotion only applies to those who follow the steps outlined in 2.2 and who fall within the eligibility criteria in 2.1.

2.3 Only one entry per person per social media account can participate in the promotion.

2.4 Notwithstanding any other clause of these terms and conditions, if we believe you have:

(a) engaged in any fraud or material abuse of the promotion;

(b) entered or proposed to enter into the promotion in a manner that is in breach of our standard terms and conditions;

then we may, in our absolute discretion, disqualify your entry from the promotion. To avoid doubt, we may provide you with this notice after you have entered into or otherwise completed participating in the promotion.

2.5. Winners will be selected in accordance with clause 4.

2.6 If you are the winner of the promotion:

(a) we will contact you via direct message on the relevant social media platform you used to enter into the promotion offer. You must claim the promotion prize within 7 days (or such other period we nominate) after we have notified you; and

(b) you may be required to provide us with proof of any eligibility which applies to the promotion offer.

2.7 We will not be liable for any failure or delay in waiving or otherwise providing you with the prize(s) that you are entitled to receive under the promotion. We will not be liable for any loss or expenses you incur in connection with the promotion.

3.1 GENERAL INFORMATION

3.1 These terms and conditions apply in addition to our terms of service, which are available at Terms of Service | BTC Markets.

3.2 These terms and conditions are governed by the laws in force in Victoria and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.

3.3 We may amend these terms and conditions or cease offering the promotion at any time at our absolute discretion and without providing notice to you. Where we amend these terms and conditions, your entry (or continued entry) in any promotion will amount to acceptance of these terms and conditions as amended.

3.4 You cannot transfer or assign your rights under these terms and conditions.

3.5 If any term is declared unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that term will be deemed severable and will not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions of these terms and conditions.

4.1 SELECTION OF WINNERS

4.1 This promotion will apply during the promotion period where 10 winners will be selected and rewarded AU$500 worth of Bitcoin.

4.1 The selection criteria will be as follows:

(a) 10participants who have satisfied clause 2.2 will be selected at random and will be declared the winners;

(b) Two draw dates will occur, the first on Thursday, June 20th, 2024, at 10:00am AEST where five (5) winners will be announced, and the second on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024, at 10:00am AEST, where the five (5) remaining winners will be announced.

4.2 Each of the winners will have AU$500 worth of BTC (calculated at the time of the draw) deposited directly into their BTC Markets trading account within 14 days of announcement of the winners.

4.3 The winner’s social media details will be published online at https://www.btcmarkets.net/blog on Friday, July 5th, 2024, at 12:00pm AEST following the closure of the promotion offer. You consent to your social media handle being published in the manner contemplated by these terms and conditions.

4.4 The winners who are notified must accept their winnings by Friday, July 19th, 2024, at 12:00pm AEST.

4.5 If for any reason a winner does not accept the promotion offer by the time stipulated by BTC Markets, then you will be deemed to have forfeited your rights under the promotion.
